Look for features like cameras, controlled access entry, on-site staff, and daily sweeps or walkthroughs. When your belongings are out of sight, security matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-climate-control-depends-on-your-items\">3) Climate Control<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether or not you need a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cubesmart.com\/storage\/climate-controlled-storage\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cubesmart.com\/storage\/climate-controlled-storage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">climate-controlled storage unit<\/a> depends on your preferences and belongings. There are many items that would either greatly benefit from or require a <a href=\"https:\/\/unimovers.com\/blog\/a-guide-to-climate-controlled-storage-units-and-what-they-are-used-for\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/unimovers.com\/blog\/a-guide-to-climate-controlled-storage-units-and-what-they-are-used-for\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">controlled climate<\/a> to prevent damage to the item. Even if your belongings aren\u2019t susceptible to temperature or moisture damage, you may prefer not to risk it. <br><br>I also personally received peace of mind knowing my things were in a secure building and not just behind a fence in a shed-like building that is susceptible to natural forces like flooding, for example.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1-a-first-floor-unit-or-a-unit-close-to-the-entrance\">Nice-to-Have Features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1-a-first-floor-unit-or-a-unit-close-to-the-entrance-1\">1) A First-Floor Unit or a Unit Close to the Entrance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This is definitely up to your preference, but mine is certainly to have a first-floor unit, especially if you\u2019re moving yourself. Even if you\u2019re not, my movers appreciated not having to lug items up and down stairs and narrow doorways. Plus, you can load everything onto a dolly and wheel things directly to the unit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-ability-to-drive-up-close-to-the-entrance\">2) Ability to Drive Up Close to the Entrance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This makes the move more efficient and reduces the amount of manual carrying required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-dollies-on-site-a-freight-elevator-if-needed\">3) Dollies On-Site + a Freight Elevator (If Needed)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, dollies on site and a freight elevator with space.
