  • Have a minimum annual income of $52,000.

Juneau – $1,000 per year

The Northern Lights can be seen in Juneau every year from about mid-September to mid-April. If seeing this natural wonder from the comfort of your home isn’t enough to make you pack your luggage, I don’t know what is. Their incentive of $1,000 a year for life to residents is provided by the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend.

Ketchikan – $2,000 per year per person + internet

Located in the southernmost entrance to Alaska’s Inner Passage, an area filled with rich Native Alaskan history and a beautiful network of waterways. Not only will the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend pay you yearly for their incentive, but they also offer three months free of gigabit fiber optic home internet. Their incentive is paid out yearly for life for residents.

  • 15 applicants are accepted each calendar year.
  • Next, finalists are interviewed by the program committee.
  • Then, finalists are invited to visit Ketchikan for a week-long “workation” to experience the community.

Brentwood is a largely agricultural community located just 55 miles east of San Francisco located in Contra Costa County. Savannah – $2,000 + grants for business owners

Qunicy – $5,000 property tax rebate

Quincy is known as the “Gem City” due to its historical roots in agriculture and trade. Today, Qunicy hosts amazing architecture, midwestern culture, and is Illinois’ second-largest city. Come explore The Hoosier State! Home to Notre Dame, the Indy 500, and the Pacers. Currently, 10 cities within the state will pay you incentives to move there.

Bloomington – 3-year co-working membership to The Mill

Located southwest of Indianapolis, Bloomington is surrounded by forests and lakes. In addition, it is located near Indiana University, which fills the city with energy. Notably, their incentives package includes a membership to the community’s nonprofit center for co-working and entrepreneurship, valued at $2,200 annually. In addition, also receive concierge-level support in getting resettled and acclimated to the community.

How you qualify:

  • First, must be 18 years or older.
  • Currently reside outside of Indiana.
  • Importantly, must have full-time remote employment (or self-employment) for a business located outside of Monroe County.
  • Must be able to relocate to Bloomington within six months of acceptance.

Daviess County – $5,000

Daviess County offers a multi-cultural environment with its Amish and Swiss roots. Filled with hilly terrain and its White River, this is a great place for nature lovers and hikers. Also, it’s an up-and-coming city devoted to agriculture and urban development. Notably, their incentive package includes cash for new movers.

  • Must be willing to move to Daviess County within 6 months.

French Lick – $5,000 + fun!

Located in southern Indiana, this city is known for its historical mineral springs, Larry Bird, and Hoosier National Forest.   • First, must be moving to the area from outside of the county.
  • Must build a house in the area.

Britt – Free lot of land to build a home

Britt is located in Hancock County. Famously, it is known for hosting the National Hobo Convention, and being home to the National Hobo Museum. How you qualify:

  • Note, the incentive is provided at the time and place of closing on the permanent financing of the home.
  • The value of the improvements (exclusive of land value) must be evidenced by an appraisal or assessment.
  • Also, the construction of the home must be fully completed, as evidenced by the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy by the City of Newton. A radon remediation system shall be installed in the new home.
  • Importantly, new home construction with a value under $100,000 shall be eligible for tax abatement in accordance with the City-Wide Urban Revitalization Plan.

Mankato – Free lot of land to build a home

Mankato is a city located in both Blue Earth, Nicollet, and Le Sueur counties. It is filled with rivers, lakes, and bluffs that create the perfect scenic overlooks. They pay new movers in a free plot of land for moving to their area.

Topeka – $10,000 + $1,000 in free Jimmy John’s sandwiches

Topeka is the capital city of Kansas. It is flooded with murals and statues and is home to the Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site. They will pay you $10,000 dollars to move to their area to help you buy a new home. In addition, if you are looking to rent, they will pay you $5,000 to subsidize your living costs. Wilson – Free lot of land to build a home

Located in Ellsworth County, Wilson has over 100 miles of shoreline. It is home to the clearest lake in Kansas, Wilson Lake. It is dubbed the “Czech Capital of Kansas due to its large population of Czech immigrant settlers in its early history. Currently, the city’s program will pay you in a free plot of land for moving to their area.

What cities in Kentucky will pay me to relocate?

The Bluegrass State gets its name from the flowing fields of bluegrass that are actually green but appear blue from afar. It nears the Ohio River and the Appalachian Mountains. Currently, one city offers new residents benefits through its incentive program.

Paducah – $2,500 reimbursement + internet

Paducah is located in McCracken County and is the largest city in the Jackson Purchase region. Twenty blocks in the city’s downtown area have been designated a historic district for the city. Notably, they will pay you cash for moving reimbursement expenses for moving there. In addition, they also offer $70 a month for an entire year to cover internet expenses, and a waiver of the City of Paducah 2% payroll tax for 12 months. Uniquely, to sweeten the deal, they provide tickets/passes, training, memberships, and/or experiences to a variety of Paducah’s cultural and educational institutions.

How you qualify:

  • First, must be 21 years old or older.
  • Be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or have other credentials necessary to work in the United States
  • Also, Live at least 100 miles outside the limits of the City of Paducah at the time of application for the program.
  • Work full-time for a company in which all offices are located at least 100 miles outside the Paducah city limits.
  • Importantly, be able to perform a majority of their employment duties remotely.
  • Acquire primary residency in the City of Paducah within three (3) months.
  • In addition, agree to retain primary residence in the City of Paducah for at least 1 year after twelve-month program.
  • Note, must not be a participant in any other publicly-funded program.

What cities in Maine will pay me to relocate?

Known as The Pine Tree State, Maine is also recognized for its breathtaking coastline, maritime history, and the natural wonders located in Acadia National Park. Currently, the state has one city offering moving incentives.

Augusta – $15,000 tax rebate

Augusta is the capital city of Maine. It is nestled beside the Kennebec River, winding nature trails, and the Maine State Museum. Interestingly, they will pay you up to $15,000 in tax rebates to move to their area. Note, this incentive is applied to those who graduated from a college/university after 2008.

Maryland is filled with beautiful waterways and coastlines of the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It has a rich maritime history due to its seaport roots and is the birthplace of the National Anthem. At present, the state has one city offering to pay you to move there.

Baltimore – $5,000

Baltimore is a major city in Maryland. It’s the setting for the musical Hairspray, remains an important seaport, and remains the state’s most populous city. Currently, they will pay you $5,000 in five-year forgivable loans to move in order to help new residents purchase a home.

How you qualify:

  • Must live in the home as the primary resident.
  • Note, must contribute at least $1,000 of your own money to your home purchase.
  • Also, must earn a homeownership counseling certificate before making an offer on your home.
